2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the first world war. It saw over 11 million soldiers die, and had over 41 million casualties. I made this painting in some sort of remembrance to the ones who were wrongfully dishonored. 306 british soldiers were executed under the charge of "cowardice" that we know of.
More than 250 000 british soldiers were under the legal age of enlistment during the war, some as young as 12.
The ones who were executed were only finally pardoned in 2006.
